It's September!!

GREETINGS!

Can you believe it's the 1st of September already? And the "real" Fall is not too far away! I don't think I've ever looked so forward to its coming, when the days cool off and a nip is in the air. We had about a 5 minute sprinkle today, while a little ways North of us they had enough to make puddles! At least it cooled off into the 80's. I spent the morning doing dishes and picking up and vacuuming. And wouldn't you know, I just finished that job when Mary and her 2 dogs came to visit, along with Patch, and those 3 dirty dogs left muddy paw prints all over my clean living room carpet! Well I guess I have something to do tomorrow now.........

I've been meaning to post these pictures I took the other day when I took Lobo in to the doggy doctor. This is the bridge over the Arkansas River that separates Webbers Falls and Gore, Oklahoma. It's really quite nice along the river, and there is another nice park on the Webbers Falls side. (I took these from the Gore side.)

The next picture is just looking down the boat launch ramp across the river. And the one after that is about the park. There are picnic spots and overnight camping spots as well as the boat launch. Fishing is a HUGE thing in Gore and WF.

You might remember several years ago when a bunch of barges on the river ran into a bridge collapsing it and several people were killed. Well that bridge is just a couple miles from this bridge, and there is a beautiful memorial in the park on the river in Webbers Falls, which you can see from this bridge.

Tom and Ronnie went to the water department in Porum today to get some letter or something stating Tom was going to hook up to the water line. He needed that to take to the power co-op before they would come set power poles, etc. On Monday the two of them went in to Lowes in Muskogee to get the electrical boxes and wiring and whatnot that they then had to take to the electric co-op. And of course that's in a completely different town; Stigler! It's quite a process. Funny thing, they were gone the whole day............seems there was a Casino along the way, and well you can guess the rest. Ronnie said he only lost $6, so that wasn't too bad.

Well, I'm tired.........we had to make a WalMart trip this afternoon and that always does me in. I hear the bed and my book calling me. Take care and God Bless.
