The Finished Cave

GREETINGS!

Well, here is a picture of the "Cave" all settled and ready for occupancy!

Ronnie really has fixed the inside up quite nice for what he uses the space for; which is working on his guns and making ammunition. That all goes along with his hobby of Cowboy Shooting. He even has a curtain on the window! He has benches and shelves galore, his laptop, CD player, and one of our 3 new telephone handsets, which is great for me to call him to supper!

This picture shows an empty space between the end of our mobile and his cave. It was preiously filled with the ugly old 17 ft. camp trailer that he used for his cave. (You can see a little of it in the cave picture.)

It looks sooooo much nicer with the trailer gone. Ronnie has used the tractor and tried to level the ground out and planted some grass seed. Can't wait to have it grow and look nice. Of course there are still some odds and ends laying around............. Ronnie is going to dismantle the trailer and make a flatbed trailer out of it or something. Can't wait for that either! So there you have it!

Until next time, take care and God bless you and yours.

The "Man Cave"

GREETINGS!
Wow! What a day it has been; I actually was outside working in the yard this morning. Something I hadn't done yet this year, and my muscles are telling me all about it already! This beautiful 80 + degree weather just makes you want to get out and do something........ So this is what I did and it was all within about a 3 square foot area!

Now, on to the Man Cave. This is it "rolling" into the yard.........

Getting in to position to back it into it's spot.

Getting ready to unload it from the trailer.

Unloading and then the leveling begins.

Will have pictures of final "cave" tomorrow! I must say ladies, if your husband needs a place to escape to this is the answer!!

That's all I know for today. Until next time, take care and God bless you and yours.

She LIkes It!!

GREETINGS!

It's been a few days since I posted, and I have no excuse. HOWEVER, I did get my cousin's table runner done and in the mail and she got it on her Birthday! Now wasn't that a stroke of luck! And best of all, she says she really likes it.

Here is the finished product...............

Funny how all the runner pictures come with a man attached to them!

I can't wait to get started on another one. Just wish I knew someone who wanted one.

We had near 80 today and it will be in the 80's for the coming week. Seems like Spring is here.........people out working in their yards and gardens. Just hope we don't get caught with a surprise round of bad weather to ruin all the work done so far. We did have quite a down pour last week, washing our road out and flooding surrounding areas.

That's all I have for tonight. Until next time, take care and God Bless you.

Spring?

GREETINGS!

I've been doing laundry most of the day, and in between loads working on quilting the table runner I'm making for my Alabama cousin. Now my fingers are sore and full of pricks - I should use a thimble, but I don't like them!

I called the place where I bought my new washing machine the other day to tell them it was not filling up right. I had in a large load and the tub was only half full. He called a repairman and the repairman called me and this is what he said: "I could come out and look at your machine, but I would tell you there was nothing wrong with it." He proceeded to tell me that the government has decided we need to save water and any washing machine purchased/built this year has these water saving features, and it doesn't matter what you do,you cannot change it. The machines also regulate how hot the wash water can be!! I had wondered why I had no hot water wash; thought something was wrong with the way the hoses were hooked up. So, here's the deal; if you want clean clothes you use much smaller loads than before - thereby using 2 or 3 times as much water as before. The way I see it, you are using MORE water AND electricity than before, unless you don't care and let the government dictate how you should do your laundry! I wonder which one of the crazy presidential candidates would like to debate that issue? Might be they know more about it than other worldly things! ha

This is Ronnie's garden so far! Radishes. At least they are popping up!

And this is the weather for this week. That should make those radishes grow!

And this is the wonderful blue, blue Oklahoma sky in today's 76 degrees!

I hope some, if not all of you, are enjoying some nice weather for a change. We still have tornado season coming next month, which I dread. I am so sorry for those who have recently experienced tornadoes. I wish I could be there to help you all through these difficult times. I pray for you and know that God will see you through.

That's all I know for now. Until next time, take care and God's blessings to you.

Girl Friend Day

GREETINGS!

Wednesday already! I truly must be getting older, because the time is certainly going by faster! Yesterday was my monthly outing with my friend Judy. We had a great time; we met in the little town of Porum and she hopped in my Van and away we went to Stigler. One of Judy's husband's hobbies is building houses, and he is at the stage of finishing the latest one, so Judy had the job of pricing and picking out carpet and flooring. We went to a store that they have been patronizing for about 30+ years and got some samples for her to take home to show hubby.

Then for the BIG fun of the day; we went in to a little shop call Simply Unique and it was great! Full of wonderful costume jewelry - those huge bling rings and necklaces and watches, etc. - and various home decor items and best of all, my favorite thing - signs! Check these 2 that I bought out!

I saw this one and couldn't resist it. I've been having some inner conflicts about where my life is going recently, and this sign just seemed made for me!

And this one says it all! Guess I should have put it in a different spot so I didn't show up in the mirror though........

Judy bought one of those big bling rings that are the rage these days, and it really does look kind of neat. She also bought a big chartreuse (sp) green purse with some bling on it that was marked down. Really bright and cheery and Springy!

After shopping there we had to make a WalMart stop so she could buy a bathroom light fixture and some other stuff, and I needed to get my invisible ink pen for marking the quilting pattern on my runner. Once all our shopping was done we needed our lunch! So around 1 or 1:30 p.m. we went to Mazzio's, an Italian eatery. I'd not been in one before, but have wanted to for quite some time. There are quite a few of them in Oklahoma. It is a salad bar/pizza bar type place where you serve yourself. It was really quite good and it was great to sit down and get some more visiting in.

I love our monthly day out. Even though we see each other in church every Sunday, and we email during the week, there is nothing like being able to take our time and communicate with each other in a laid back way and do a little shopping if we want! Actual human contact is a rarity up here in the Oklahoma hills, so we do enjoy it when we get the chance to be together!

I hope you all spend some time with your friends on a regular basis. There is nothing like having a good friend who will listen to you and not judge you. All the cliche's you hear and see about best friends are true!!

That's all I know for now. Until next time, take care, God Bless you and call a friend!

Civilization?

GREETINGS!

On making my way off the "hill" yesterday morning to do the weekly grocery shopping, I was very surprised to see this sign on the corner of our road!

This corner, about 1/4 mile from our driveway and where our mailbox is, previously had NO sign posted. We just knew it was County Road 1110 and 4420. This change is due to the coming of 911 in our area; which will mean new addresses and who knows what else! As to when it will come?.........who knows! The mail-lady said the signs are disappearing as quick as they are put up because people don't want the change! That's Okies for you I guess. One thing for sure, it will mess up people trying to find someplace using a GPS device!

So we thought we'd try a "new" restaurant for supper last night. This is in Warner, and it used to be only open on some weekends, but is now open all the time. I don't think we will be going back there! Food was edible, but nothing to write home about.........

While in WalMart yesterday looking for some material to make another table runner, for my cousin, I met a lady also material shopping. We started talking and before I knew it, over 1/2 hour had passed. She teaches quilting classes at a church in the town and was very friendly. She gave me her phone number and said if I ever had any questions to just give her a call! And if/when she starts another class she will call me. That sounds great, but don't know if I want to drive over 30 miles one way for a class! We'll see when the time comes. I did end up finding the material to use, and think it will be quite nice. Just be patient cousin Kay!

You know, the daffodils have been blooming for weeks now, and the Ornamental Pear trees are in full bloom too. They seem to be everywhere! They are beautiful, and I can't help wondering if they were people planted many years ago, or bird planted years ago! It creeps in to my head that there must have been a house close by every where I see a white, flowering tree, but that also seems impossible! I guess God puts those kind of things scattered around so we will always "wonder" of their origins and then realize it was God's planting all along.

Okay, I've got to go vacuum and finish up a load of laundry. Have a great weekend, and until next time take care and enjoy God's blessings.
