GREETINGS!
Well, we had quite a storm last night. I woke up about 2:00 a.m. to the wind blowing and the rain pounding on the metal roof. Then the lightening did its thing and the thunder shook the house! This went on for about 3 hours. The report was that some places were getting 3 to 6 inches of rain per hour, and I truly believe it.
Ronnie went out this morning to do damage patrol and this is what I see if I turn left out of the driveway. The road washed out by the creek, and all the nice new gravel gone. I don't think I will be driving my van out that direction! Ronnie called the county to report the damage, but no answer as yet.
And this is what I see if I turn right out of my driveway. Not a real good picture of the very steep hill which you must immediately go down, but you see what's at the bottom! The hill itself is a quagmire of red clay with all kinds of little gully washes running down it now. The bottom picture shows the hill up to our drive. So needless to say, I don't think I will be going out of here that direction either. HMMMMMMMM, I wonder how long before I can go somewhere???
I guess the moral of this story is that one about be careful what you ask for, cause you just might get it! I hope those who still need rain get some, but in moderation!
In the meantime, I've made zucchini bread, did laundry, and vacuumed, and of course watched TV and read my book. Took Lobo to the Vet the other day to check his stitches and healing and he's doing fine so far. Only one more day of antibiotics, yay! You know what they say...........life goes on.
Take care and God Bless.
